Carleton Community Garden Project

The CCGP has 3 main goals: 1. The inclusion of rooftop gardens in future buildings built on campus 2. The modification of the residences to include rooftop greenhouse community gardens. 3. Should the buildings on campus be unsuitable for rooftop gardens, the creation of a single large greenhouse community garden near the residence buildings. We believe that these gardens will create cheap, organic food for students, while promoting interaction between students, as well as helping to protect our environment. Many other benefits come with these goals however. We expect gardens to save the university a large amount of money, to have practical use for a variety of programs here on campus such as architecture, engineering, chemistry, political science, human rights, and many others, as well as to potentially generate profits for students. We are currently in the process of lobbying the administration and creating interest in the student body to have our goals realized, and need your help!
